With two matches to play Accrington are one point behind Division 2 leaders Nelson who face Rishton at Blackburn Road on Sunday and Crompton on the final Sunday at Seedhill.
Third placed Crompton, who are 8 points adrift of Accrington, host Great Harwood on Sunday.
Accrington beat East Lancs last Sunday to stay in second place whilst Middleton's game against Colne ended as a no result.
Middleton have won three of the clubs four previous league meetings, including the match at Towncroft earlier this season, with Accrington winning the other.
