This season we are looking back at the long hot summer of 1976 when the club finished as runners up in both league and cup to Rawtenstall and also the less successful season of 1996 when the club finished bottom for the third season running in it's 150th year with Chad Grainger as professional.

Champions Accrington lost for the fourth time in six matches going down on run rate at Haslingden on Saturday May 29th 1976.

Accrington's Worsley Cup adventure ended at Bacup where the home side notched up a 3 wicket victory on Saturday June 1st 1996.

A big upset at Thorneyholme Road saw bottom club Accrington end a season long losing streak of seven defeats with a 46 run over second placed East Lancs on Sunday June 2nd 1996.
