Super Jurie Ton Wins It For Accy

A glorious unbeaten century from professional Jurie Snyman took Accrington to a 4 wicket win over Rochdale in a high scoring game at Thorneyholme Road. 

Snyman hit fifteen fours in making an unbeaten 105 to notch a club record twelfth century in all competitions for Accrington.

He also passed 500 runs for the season during his innings.

Accrington's win was the clubs first in the Lancashire League against Rochdale.

Sixteen year-old Haroon Kashmiri hit an unbeaten 101 in Rochdale's 247-5.

Kashmiri hit nine fours and two sixes, adding 82 for the 5th wicket with skipper Michael Harling (36).

Skipper Jacob Clarke removed Ali Muzaffar (9) and Tom Gilbertson (2) with Simon Hanson picking up opener Zac Ayres (6) to have Rochdale 31-3.

Sub professional Dale Phillips (76 with seven fours and three sixes) added 114 for the 4th wicket with Kashmiri before falling to Asad Khan.

Ed Wackrill sent back opener Jonny Dack (13) at 34 with Steve Oddy removing Clarke (1) one run later.

Graeme Sneddon hit 44 before falling to Dylan Poscha at 80.

Emile Haratbar (29) and Snyman added 59 before the wicketkeeper holed out to Muzaffar at long on.

Sam Molloy (2) fell to Phillips at 149 and Kian Farnworth (20) was cleaned up by Wackrill at 206 leaving Hanson (13 not out) and Snyman to secure victory with an unbroken 7th wicket stand of 42 with ten balls to spare.

Accrington's win takes the club up to second place at the halfway point in the season.

Scorecard

The seconds were beaten at Enfield by 65 runs.

Chasing 241 to win after Waqar Ashraf had taken 5-44,  the seconds closed on 175-9.

Mohammed Tayyib hit 38, Zain Hanif 38, Waleed Majeed 28, Azmat Mehmood 27 and Ryan Bond 16.
