Accrington were beaten by 27 runs at Nelson.

Opener Nabeel Ahmed top scored with 83 in Nelson's 204-7 in a 44 overs a-side game at Seedhill.

Ahmed hit nine fours and a six, adding 81 for the 3rd wicket with Russell Bradley (47) and 82 for the 4th wicket with professional Ben Breitmeyer (31) after Jacob Clarke (5-47) had removed opener Neil Thompson (1) and Matt Pettinger (3).

Clarke also removed Gul Sabir (14) at 200 and ran out Lewis Bradley (9) at 203.

Breitmeyer proved to be the match winner for Nelson taking a league best 6-54 to bowl Accrington out for 177 in the 43rd over.

Thompson cleaned up Jon Hayhurst (1) at 8 with Breitmeyer removing Nathaniel Young (9) at 12.

Sub pro Nico Van Zyl was trapped in front by Thompson at 27 but Clarke and Emile Haratbar put on 109 for the 4th wicket to put Accrington back in contention.

Breitmeyer cleaned up Clarke for 62, including three fours and a six, at 136.

Shahzaib Raja joined the attack and picked up skipper Graeme Sneddon (7) at 155.

Two runs later Haratbar's career best knock of 65, including five fours and a six, was ended by Breitmeyer.

Raja trapped Abbaas Ahmad (3) in front at 162 with Breitmeyer polishing off the innings by removing Ali Hasham (15), Zain Hanif (3) and Ryan Bond (0) to secure maximum points for Nelson.

Jacob Clarke became the first Accrington amateur to score a half century and take five wickets in the same match since Mark Aspin in 1994.

The seconds had a good win over Walsden at The iMEP Arena, Waleed Majeed hitting an unbeaten 46 in a 3 wicket win.
