A hard fought encounter at The iMEP Arena went the way of Nelson who beat Accrington by 12 runs after being bowled out for 129.

Mohammed Tayyib took 4-34 and professional Jurie Snyman picked up 3-31 in the Nelson innings.

Tayyib removed opener Matt Pettinger (1) at 1 with Oliver Lowe (2-15) sending back Nabeel Ahmed (5) and Neil Thompson (19) at 6 and 32.

Asad Khan cleaned up Nelson professional Ben Breitmeyer without scoring on his league debut at 38.

Snyman removed Lewis Bradley (16) at 61 and Hassan Fazal (38) at 98.

Tayyib returned to send back Harry Waddington (1), Khurram Nazir (4) and skipper Michael Bradley (0) with Snyman polishing off the innings by trapping Shahazib Raja in front without scoring.

Opener Nathaniel Young was run out before a run had been scored.

Yousuf Ali (14) fell to Fazal at 19.

Nazir joined the attack and picked up the wickets of opener Jon Hayhurst (13) at 54, skipper Graeme Sneddon (4) at 69 and Snyman (34) at 75.

Breitmeyer then sent back Emile Haratbar (6) at 86 and Ali Hasham (2) at 95.

Lowe (9) was trapped in front by Fazal at 108 and Asad Khan (12) fell in the same manner to Thompson at 115.

Breitmeyer sealed the win by cleaning up Tayyib (2) at 117 leaving Tom Braysford unbeaten on 1.

On Saturday the team beat Lostock by 4 wickets in a friendly with Jurie hitting 65, Graham 49 and Ali Hasham an unbeaten 39.

Better news from the seconds who had a 21 run win at Walsden.

Husan Ashraf hit an unbeaten 72 in the seconds 229-5 and then Rohid Ashraf took 4-62 and Zain Hanif 3-39 to bowl Walsden out for 206.
