Jurie Ton Beats Leaders Rishton

An unbeaten century by Accrington professional Jurie Snyman has knocked Rishton off the top of the Division 2 table.

Snyman hit eight fours and three sixes - the final one to win the match by 7 wickets and clinch a record equalling eleventh century for the club.

Chasing 211 for victory, Accrington lost Graeme Sneddon (5) at 15 and skipper Jacob Clarke (4) at 21.

Opener Jonny Dack and Snyman added 129 for the 3rd wicket to put Accrington in control.

Dack fell to a return catch off Adam Hussain for 45 but Emile Haratbar (32 not out) joined his professional to see Accrington to victory without further loss in the 47th over with an unbroken stand of 65.

Openers Richie Fox and Hussain put on 89 before Fox was caught by Snyman off Kian Farnworth for 43.

Ten runs later Hussain was caught by Sneddon off Simon Hanson for 45.

Muhammad Khan made 18 before being caught by Hanson off Asad Khan at 131.

Brad Boddie (19) was caught by Sneddon off Clarke (3-45) after adding 37 with professional Kieren Grimshaw who finished unbeaten on 45.

Clarke also picked up Mo Hassan (8) at 180 and Sid Patel (8) at 193 with skipper Ali Sartaj unbeaten on 5 when the innings closed on 210-6.

Accrington and Rishton are now level in joint third place. 

Scorecard

The seconds had a 26 run win at Rishton.

Waleed Majeed hit 92 in the seconds 190 all out.

Pick of the bowlers was Mohammed Tayyib who took 3-36 to help restrict Rishton to 164-9.
