An innings of 89 by new Accrington professional Jurie Snyman wasn't enough to prevent his club going down to a 5 wicket defeat by local rivals Great Harwood at The iMEP Arena.
Snyman rode his luck to hit nine fours and three sixes during his 121 ball innings before being bowled by Kasir Masood (4-30).
Great Harwood professional Thikshila De Silva removed opener Ali Hasham (0) and new signing Emile Haratbar (5) with Ethan Houldsworth having George Mills caught by Kasir Masood for 6.
Skipper Graeme Sneddon passed 5,000 Lancashire League runs during his innings of 11 before being spectacularly caught at slip by Matt Oddie off his opposite number Stuart Maher.
Andy Greenwood was run out without scoring and Jimmy Hayhurst (4) fell to the Oddie-Maher combo to leave Accrington on 75-6.
Yousuf Ali joined Snyman to add 110 for the 7th wicket before falling to Kasir Masood for 27 at 188.
Kasir then cleaned up the tail by removing Asad Khan (8) and Tom Braysford (1) to bowl Accrington out for 205 with 5 balls of the innings remaining.
Great Harwood conceded 48 extras. Khan (3-38) made a fine start by removing Reece Willets (1), Caleb Greenhalgh (0) and Alex Kennedy who was stumped by Haratbar for 8.
De Silva and Kasir steadied the innings with a stand of 79 before the amateur was bowled by Snyman for 26.
Oddie was cleaned up by the home professional without addition but de Silva hit an unbeaten 92, including ten fours and five sixes, adding an unbroken 91 for the 6th wicket with Houldsworth who hit a career best unbeaten 44 to take Great Harwood to victory in the 35th over.
