A century from professional Jurie Snyman and a career best 67 from opener Jon Hayhurst couldn't prevent Accrington going down to a 6 wicket defeat at Crompton.

After losing Nathaniel Young (1) and Jacob Clarke (11), Hayhurst and Snyman put on 152 for the 3rd wicket.

Hayhurst hit eight fours in his 125 ball innings with Snyman hitting seventeen fours and three sixes in making 107 from 91 balls.

Accrington then lost their last 8 wickets for the addition of 31 runs as Sam Rigby took a career best 4-34 and Asif Fazal picked up 4-79 from 15 overs.

Crompton openers Saif Bhojani (22) and Fazal put on 39.

Fazal fell to Asad Khan for 50, including seven fours, at 116.

Professional Mohammad Jamal hit an unbeaten 98 with eight fours and two sixes, to see Crompton home in the 48th over.

Arron Birtwistle also hit an unbeaten 30 for the home side after claiming four victims in the Accrington innings.

The seconds were beaten by Crompton in a high scoring game at The iMEP Arena. Half centuries from Husan Ashraf (61) and Azmet Mehmood (53) helped Accrington post 253-9. Crompton lost 2 wickets in getting home in the 38th over.

On Saturday the thirds lost their opening match at The iMEP Arena to Haslingden 4ths. Oliver Lowe's (51) first half century for the club and skipper Emile's unbeaten 43 from number eleven, helped Accrington post 160-9. Waqar Ashraf's 2-17 was the best figures of the eight bowlers used but Haslingden got home with 2 wickets and five balls to spare.
