The first result of this season's competition was at The iMEP Arena where last year's runners up Clitheroe beat Accrington by 8 wickets.
Graeme Sneddon hit a competition best unbeaten 60 in Accrington's 140-3.
Sneddon hit seven fours and three sixes, adding an unbroken 100 for the 4th wicket with Jacob Clarke who hit an unbeaten 46.
Accrington lost Ali Hasham (0) to the second ball of the match, Jon Hayhurst (11) at 24 and professional/captain Jurie Snyman (23) at 40.
Clitheroe professional Madhav Kaushik smashed 74 from 32 balls with eight fours and five sixes, adding 88 with Ali Ross (35 not out).
Peter Dibb also hit an unbeaten 20 to see Clitheroe home in the 15th over.
