The local derby at The iMEP Arena was won by Premier Division side Church who beat Division 2 side Accrington by 28 runs.

Sam Holt and Adam Hewitt put on 40 after Church opener Craig Fergusson (5) had given Mehmood Ahmad a return catch at 17. 

Tom Braysford made the breakthrough against his former club by having Hewitt caught by George Mills for 15.

Sub professional Mickey Copeland joined Holt to add 74 before the Cherry Tree man was caught by Antonio Lo-Giudice for 44.

Holt was well stumped by Emile Haratbar off Yousuf Ali for 67, including seven fours and two sixes at 157.

Skipper Josh Scully (33 not out) and Mo Bhada (25 not out) were going well when rain brought the innings to a close on 208-4 after 42 overs.

Chasing a revised target of 194 from 27 overs, Accrington lost Mills to Bhada for 9 at 17.

Professional Jurie Snyman made 49 from 33 balls with six fours and two sixes before being caught by Robbie Nelson off Bhada at 77.

Opener Jon Hayhurst then fell to Robbie Nelson for 13 at 81.

Skipper Graeme Sneddon and Haratbar took the score to 150 when Sneddon was caught by Fergusson off Copeland for 27.

Haratbar fell to the last ball of the innings for 49 to the same combo leaving Accrington on 165-5.
