The first club to join the eight clubs with byes in the 2nd Round draw of the Worsley Cup was Accrington who beat Rawtenstall by 8 wickets at The Rossendale Driveways and Patios Worswick Memorial Ground in a match that lasted just 39.1 overs.
Jacob Clarke took 5-20 and professional Jurie Snyman picked up 4-26 to bowl Rawtenstall out for 84 after the home side had been well placed on 54-1.
Oliver Lowe cleaned up Matt Kershaw (9) at 34.
Jacob Clarke joined the attack and picked up the vital wicket of Rawtenstall professional Anuk Fernando (11) who was caught behind by Emile Haratbar at 54.
Snyman picked up Rizwan Shafiq (3) and Tabassum Aziz (5) at 61 and 76.
Skipper Dean Barlow fell at the same score to Clarke after hitting 41 from 54 balls at the top of the order.
Eight runs later Harry Etchells (4) also fell to Clarke.
Snyman also removed Leighton Le Carpentier (4) and Marley Askew (0) with Clarke polishing off the innings by sending back Imran Abid (0) and Jack Nightingale (0) as the last 5 wickets fell on 84 leaving Thomas Egan unbeaten on nought at the end of the 25th over.
Fernando sent back Asad Khan and skipper Graeme Sneddon at 9 and 15 both without scoring but Snyman (47 not out) and in-form opener Jon Hayhurst (27 not out) saw Accrington to victory after 14.1 overs.
The seconds are out of the Junior Cup after losing at home to Rawtenstall.
