Accy Back On Top After Win At Nelson

A fine all round performance by professional Jurie Snyman took Accrington back up to joint top spot after beating the league leaders for the second week running, this time Nelson, who were defeated by 66 runs at Seedhill.

Snyman top scored with an unbeaten 53 in Accrington's 176-4.

Openers Graeme Sneddon and Simon Hanson put on 29 before Sneddon (15) was caught by Khurram Nazir off Neil Thompson.

Hanson and skipper Jacob Clarke took the score to 67 when Hanson (27) was caught by Sam Holt off Gul Sabir.

Clarke (22) also fell to Sabir, being held by Tom Bradshaw at 84.

Emile Haratbar joined Snyman to add 45 for the 4th wicket when the wicketkeeper was caught by Nelson professional Tyler McGladdery off Thompson for 25.

Snyman and Sam Molloy (19 not out) added an unbroken 47 for the 5th wicket with Snyman hitting six fours in his 85 ball innings.

Rain lopped three overs off the Nelson innings leaving the home side 47 overs to chase 173 runs for victory.

Snyman and Clarke stiffled the Nelson top order with Snyman taking 4-21 from 15 overs and Clarke 2-11 from 7.

Sam Holt (7) was first to go caught at slip by Clarke off Snyman at 9.

Lewis Bradley was bowled by Clarke without scoring one run later.

Another run, another wicket with Clarke having opener Nabeel Ahmed (3) caught by Hanson.

Snyman then picked up the vital wicket of McGladdery (8) who was brilliantly caught at slip by Clarke at 21.

When Hassan Fazal (3) was caught by Hanson off Snyman half of the side were out for 31.

Bradshaw and Thompson added 20 before Bradshaw was bowled by Snyman for 10.

Ben Dinning (6) was run out at 66.

Hanson (2-45 from 13 overs) had Sabir (3) caught by Snyman at 82 and Nazir (10) caught by Sneddon at 94.

Last man Sam Kelly (3) was caught by Hanson off Asad Khan at 106 leaving Thompson stranded on 49 with Accrington picking up two vital bowling points.
