This season we are looking back at the historic Lancashire League championship winning season of 1975 and also the less successful season of 1995 when Colin Miller was professional.
This was the day that Accrington had waited 14 long years for. Needing to beat Colne to be sure of winning the Lancashire League championship for the first time since 1961, Accrington won the match in style, crushing an in-form Colne side by 9 wickets before a huge expectant crowd on Sunday September 14th 1975.
An early finish at Thorneyholme Road saw bottom club Accrington suffer a club record 22nd defeat of the season, losing by 8 wickets to Holland Cup winners Ramsbottom on Sunday September 10th 1995.
