Weekend Preview May 10th/11th

Accrington take on promotion favourites Greenmount at The iMEP Arena on Sunday.

Greenmount were beaten by Enfield last Sunday to drop down to fifth place in the table.

Accrington had a mixed weekend with Saturday's Worsley Cup win at Rawtenstall followed by a heavy defeat in a record breaking match to Bacup at The iMEP Arena on Sunday.

Accrington's only win in six attempts against Greenmount came in the corresponding fixture last season.

The clubs will meet again in the Worsley Cup 2nd Round on Saturday May 24th.

Accrington make a change with Asad Khan returning in place of Siraj Hussain.

Greenmount give Lancashire League debuts to Ed Dickinson and second team captain Oliver Dixon in place of Tom Heaton and Callum Hunter.

The Ball Sponsor is David Rogers.

The seconds travel to Greenmount in the reverse fixture.

The thirds are in action on Saturday hosting Todmorden 4ths at The iMEP Arena.

This weeks teams

This season we are looking back at the historic Lancashire League championship winning season of 1975 and also the less successful season of 1995 when Colin Miller was professional.

Professional Alan Worsick led a splendid later order rally to give Accrington a 1 wicket win at Rawtenstall and a third successive victory on Saturday May 10th 1975.

A low scoring game at West End saw Church beat local rivals Accrington by 3 wickets on Saturday May 13th 1995.

Both professionals hit centuries at The Horsfield where Colne beat Accrington by 4 wickets in the Worsley Cup on Sunday May 14th 1995.
